Classroom timer for the board
A timer on the board tells the class what you would otherwise keep repeating: how much time is left. Pick a time, press Start and go full screen. The ring runs down, a soft signal marks the last moment, and you stop watching the clock.
Before you start, say in one sentence what must be ready when the time is up. A timer without a task is a clock; a timer with «when it rings, every pair has three questions» is an agreement.

Frequently asked questions
How do I put the timer on the board?
Open this page on the computer connected to the board, pick a time and click «On the board». The timer fills the screen; Escape or «Close» brings you back. No account needed.
Is there a sound at the end?
Yes, a short, soft signal, twice. It only sounds with the speakers on; the picture says it too: the ring is full and «Time is up» appears under the clock.
Can I set a time other than the buttons?
Yes. Type the number of minutes in the field next to the buttons, up to 180 minutes. The timer jumps to that time at once.
Does the timer keep running when I switch tabs?
Yes. It counts by the clock of the computer, not by ticks; when you come back it is where it should be. Meanwhile the tab title shows the time left.
How is this different from the timer in a structure?
Same ring, but in a structure every step has its own time and an instruction on the board: what the class does in those minutes. This loose timer is for everything that is not a structure: a test, quiet work, tidying up.

Inside a structure, the timer is already built in
Every step of a structure on this site has its own clock on the board, with the instruction next to it. You set the time per step and the player counts down, step after step.
