Everyone takes a number: 1 to 4. Your number decides when you travel. - Prepare the assignment
Every team works out the same assignment. Afterwards each of you must be able to explain it to another team — you do not know yet who will go.

Groups share different sub-topics
Knowledge flows between the groups
Texts or task sheet per team; pens and paper to note collected information
- Send two informants per team for more exchange — the rest of the team stays
- Let informants visit multiple teams for a more complete picture
- Content lesson: each team studies a different aspect of a topic and shares knowledge via informants
- Language lesson: each team analyses a different text and informants relay findings
- Practical subject: teams each work on a different step of a process and share via informants
Based on Kagan's One Stray structure — one participant leaves the group to gather information from other groups and brings it back (Spencer Kagan, 1994).
