Step-by-step instructions

Steps

  1. Work in groups of four, split into two pairs (A–B and C–D).
  2. Step 1: one interviews the other about the question.
  3. Step 2: swap roles — now the other interviews.
  4. Step 3: everyone shares in the group of four what they heard.
  5. Move on to the next question and repeat.

Settings

  • Questions — required. One per line. You can't start without at least one.
  • Time for steps 1 & 2 (interview) — optional, default 60 s.
  • Time for step 3 (sharing) — optional, default 90 s.
  • Grouping — optional: how groups are formed.

Tip: generate questions with AI

Out of ideas? Ask Microsoft Copilot: “Give me 4 interview questions about [topic] for students aged [age], one per line.” Paste the lines into the Questions field.

Tips for the facilitator

  • Attentive listening in order to retell

  • Interviews in pairs, shared with the four

  • Summarising in your own words, concise and accurate

  • Getting acquainted or deeper topic discussion

  • Everyone is heard and represented by another
