The learning material is divided into four parts. Each team member becomes an expert in one part, shares knowledge in an expert group, and returns to their base group.

Texts or task descriptions per expert (one per role); pens and paper for note-taking
- Use visual materials or diagrams instead of texts — have experts create a poster
- Have experts write down their findings before returning to the base group
- Add a closing whole-class discussion: each base group shares one insight
- Content lesson: divide four aspects of a historical event or scientific concept
- Language lesson: analyse and summarise four texts or text types
- Practical subject: divide four steps of a process or procedure among experts
Based on Elliot Aronson's Jigsaw method (1971) — cooperative learning in which each student becomes an expert in one part of the material and shares it with their base group.
