Structures for reading skills

"Read paragraph 3" is not a task — nothing checks whether understanding happened. These structures give reading a purpose: question the text, quiz your partner, or become the expert on your part and teach it to your group. Silent reading becomes active processing, and you see exactly where comprehension falters.
